Winter Count is a primitive skills conference that has been taking place every February since 1995 in the stunning Sonoran desert of southern Arizona. Founded by Dave and Paula Wescott, it is one of the preeminent gatherings of its kind, a place where instructors and students spend one week together, sharing their knowledge of—and enthusiasm for—skills such as fire making, archery, basketry, hide tanning, pottery, flint knapping, and much more.

Plan to get yourself about 30 minutes east of Florence, Arizona.
 Once you’re registered, you’ll receive an information packet that includes directions for how to get to Winter Count, and details about when the gate will be open and when onsite check-in takes place.

Winter Count is a drug (including cannabis), alcohol, and firearm free event.
